WEB SITE DESIGN
Basic Projinfo Points1. All sites should be easy to read. Text, background, images, and text in images should always have significant color contrast. Highest contrast obviously comes from using black on white. Please don't think of using a black background unless you are trying to alienate women. Other good color combinations include dark blue on light yellow and black on orange.
2. It is usually preferable to keep the highest color contrast (black on white) for your main text. Application of other color combinations should preferably be reserved for headings, sidebars, background images, navigation buttons, and image maps. Using graphic images as backgrounds can make a website look more interesting, but will increase loading time and make text more difficult to read.
3. Preferred typefaces are standard sans-serif fonts (like Arial, which is used here) or serif fonts (like Times New Roman or the formerly popular Courier). Beware of elaborate decorative fonts which might look good for a moment but are much more difficult to read.
